John Deere LaserRip ripper points are made from CADI (Carbidic Austempered Ductile Iron) to provide the best balance between toughness and wear resistance.  The industry-exclusive process involves both a specific mixture of raw materials and heat treatment, resulting in more carbides in the high wear areas of the point, for longer wear life.  The innovative “swept back” wing design of the LaserRip cuts through tough compacted layers while lifting and fracturing the sub soil allowing moisture and nutrient permeation for improved root path and growth.
